ive put about 350 miles on the bike and the best mpg ive got was today. I went 73 mile trip mainly highway 54mpg doing about 60-65 mph? side note I still haven't changed my oil yet not sure if that would help.
has anyone got close to 60 mpg?

US mpg or Imperial? I forget where this forum is based. Either way, my Canadian fz has been getting 5.3ish l/100km. Doesn't seem that impressive but it is ridden purely for fun. No better than my previous fz09, but they say little engines ridden hard get worse fuel mileage.

im talking us mpg. why did you get rid of the 09? also what mpg's were you getting.
Looks like it is 44mpg US. I was getting pretty much the same with the 09. Hardly any highway though, just back road hooning.
Got rid of the 9 because I couldn't get on with the snatchy throttle - it was just irritating me too much. Great bike otherwise.

  • The lower the octane the better (by a small amount) the gas mileage and power. Higher octane only gives a benefit if the engine is tuned for it.

I'm in the process of doing the break in for my wife's FZ07 and I'm getting about 38MPG.....but then again we've never bought a bike for fuel mileage reasons
