This sounds like the perfect bike for me. But, I went to the dealer and sat on one in showroom (no test rides around here) and my knees felt kind of tight, that I am not sure it would be comfortable for very long. I am 5'10" with 34" inseam. I just sold my CBR250, which fit me great truth be told, usually riding with ball of my foot on the peg. Looking at that Cycle Ergonomics website, the measurements are pretty much the same for both of these bikes. I wonder if it has something to do with that plastic piece that put on tank in case you drop it, moving the leg. I will have to sit on it again.

If it still feels tight, what is the feasibility of lowering the pegs? I am a pretty slow rider and don't usually drag pegs. This is one website I found in a quick search, not sure the price, or other options, or if this is a dumb thing to do in general? http://www.whaccessories.com/FootPegLoweringKit.htm
Should I just look for a bike that fits me without mods?

Thanks for any input!

Kahold Cheung, thank you, I have looked at it & sat on it again & it is just fine, especially with balls of my feet on the pegs. I really LOVE
light weight in a motorcycle. Vstrom 650 at dealer was more comfy, but I think a bit too much for just wanting to get on and ride.

Arider......if it's any comparison.....I've been riding my wife's FZ07 for her to do the break in on the engine and it feels fine to me. I'm 5' 11" and 195 lbs with a 32 inch inseam. One thing I wouldn't do is lower the foot pegs if I were you.....but I value ground clearance while leaned over, so even the peg feelers will come off the bike (she corners low too!) Another option is to have the seat built up a bit. I know that increases the center of gravity height a bit, but that, to me, is a better option than losing some of the available lean angle by lowering the pegs.

At 5'7", the foot pegs are right in the way as I put my feet down. I would want them back a little if anything cause I keep bumping into my ankles as I back while sitting on the bike, or just put my feet down. Never noticed this so much with other bikes. Probably not an issue if you are taller, but it is for shorter people. SpacePod who reviews bikes on YouTube mentioned this issue too with the FZ-07...He about 5'6" as I recall.

As far as moving the pegs down, they make pegs that have three adjustable positions for the rear set. Most race bikes have those already. I just don't know exactly where you would be on the lowest setting though. Could be you wouldn't be any lower and the other two settings would be higher.

Hey, thanks everybody! Don't know what I was doing the first time I tried it, but the second time I sat on, the pegs felt fine, rather just like the CBR250 I just sold, if I put ball of my foot on the peg, which is what I usually do. So, I will definitely give it a try for a good while before thinking of lowering. And, yes, the idea of a higher seat is better! Thanks again.

Has anyone removed the rear foot pegs and their brackets? I am never going to have a passenger on the back so I want to remove them. The only problem I see is that the rear brake fluid res is attached to one of them. I would imagine I will have to make my own bracket to hold it?

I just posted up in another thread about the brake res. issue. I don't know if there is one being made yet, but they are out there for the FZ09, so it probably won't be too long before someone makes them for the 07....if they aren't already out there. It doesn't look like it would be much effort to make one though.....it up to you whether you want it now or are willing to wait for a bit.

I feel a little crampted on long rides. I might consider this after a while. I rode the dragon several times so far and haven't scraped yet. Although, my other bikes have limited clearance and scrape often so I'm not used to leaning this bike near it's limits. I'll just keep riding it a while and see if I start scraping. One this is that I think lowering it an inch or two really not going to make that much difference. Raising the seat isn't an option I'm on my tip toes now..
