I am changing my front stock blinkers - the installation part was ok. I got a set of mods that covers the big holes that fit the big stock blinkers (nice fit and perfectly painted), but I have two questions:

1- the new blinkers come with two wires and the old connection from the bike has an adaptor on the end after i took off the old stock blinker - how do I connect the new wires to the old adaptor?

It seems like there are three original wires. Do I cut off the adopter and connect only two wires, black to black red -to red? What about the third wire?

2- how do you tighten that nut at the end of the blinker through that small slot ? I have tried a few tools but cannot get it tight.

Suggestions please?
Thanks

I have not pulled my blinkers apart but the factor blinkers have the running lights built in. Your factory lights have a high and low bulb in them. When the ignition is on the running lights are on "low" then when the blinkers are on the high flashes on and off. So you should have three wires ground, constant on (running lights), and then the blinker wire. I would cut the old connector off your factory blinker and splice your new blinker in. Use a volt meter or test light to find the wires that should be hooked up to your new lights. Of you get it wrong you new lights will always be on. Good luck.

Thanks - but the new blinkers only have two wires. Te new blinkers do not function as running lights - they are only blinkers so that is why i think there are only two wires.

I am not sure what to do with the two wires.

I know there are people here that installed the same blinkers - I do not want to cut the connector off the stock blinkers in case i need to put them back on.

Any one have more advice for me?

On the old connector you will need to find ground wire then with a test light or your new light hook it up to each or the remaining wire (one at a time) until you find the wire that functions as a blinker only. (If you hook up ground and one other wire and turn the bike to run the light with either light up or not.... If it lights up you have the wrong wire and need to use the other one) Sorry I can't tell you specifically what wire to hook up but with a little trial and error you should be able to find the proper wire. The other one will not be hooked up. You should wrap this wire in electrical tape to avoid grounding it out.

The blinkers on the front are three wire....and the easiest install is buying three wire blinkers. The rear signals are two wire. If you're unsure which wire goes to what...they sell adapters on e-bay for the Yamaha.
