Fz 07 Clutch replacement how to.

Hello. I just bought a 2016 fz07 that has a bad clutch. The clutch was what I thought was good up until I took it to a shop for a check up, the guy explained that the clutch was going out. Wasn't good, wasn't bad. So I would like to replace the plates and steels. By myself. I've looked everywhere and cant find any videos of how to do it. Nor can I find any kits. I dont know what kit to buy. There's so many that I cant tell the difference between a $100 kit vs a $200 kit. I've seen some go for up to$600. Can anyone help me with this? Thank you.

Just a thought....maybe look into slipper clutch since you have to replace it. (Yes, I know it's more $)
Do I really need a slipper clutch on an fz 07? I just need plates and clutches. Your talking about a whole new basket right?
Fz07 has so much engine breaking....I had rear wheel lock up on me especially in the rain. If I'm correct slipper clutch could help with that.

I wish someone with better knowledge will chime in here.

I'm quite sure you have to replace entire basket.

That's almost a grand. I just need standerd clutches. Maybe even better clutches. I dont have the budget for a whole slipper. Thank you tho.
It's a great thought. I just cant afford that kinda clutch. What clutches do people run with?
To be honest I'm still on my stock and hope I won't need replacement anytime soon. I just googled it. MC garage has a video on clutch replacement check it out.
  • Another problem I'm having is I cant find anything on how to remove the clutch cover. There is coolant lines there and I dont know where to start. That's another reason I dont know what to buy. Do I need a gasket for the water pump? I just dont know

As far as the hard engine braking, that can be totally eliminated with a reflash, using the FTE kit ($350) along with many other adjustments. Look at 'Jake the Garden Snake's videos on youtube. I agree, you really don't need a slipper clutch on a FZ07, but just my opinion.
