Hello all, hope you're having a great wknd -

Discovered this place after doing some research about the FZ-07. I'm new to bikes and looking to get into them; sounds like the 07 is a good place to start?

I'm 30, 6'4 about 195lbs. I took and passed the MSF recently with no issue and got the M1 right away. Definitely love being on a bike. From what I read, the 07 is a great bike with lasting starting potential. I'm not a thrill seeker and drive pretty conservatively so I don't see myself being a danger on a bike. Obviously I would like to get the input of the forum since you all have much more exp than myself.

Welcome, in the same boat as you. This is my first street bike. I only have motorcycle experience on dirtbikes but even with that it's been about 10 years since I was last on one. I'm picking up the street bike thing fairly quickly though since the 07 is a great bike. I'm from SoCal too.

Cool - did you ever test ride the fz09? I hear it performs a little better than the 07. Do you ever feel like it's not as powerful as you'd like?

No I did not. When I saw the hideous seat on the 09 I was immediately turned off by it. Haven't felt like it wasn't enough power, then again this is my first street bike so I really have nothing to compare it too. No regrets here when it comes to purchasing the 07.
