I need help folks, can anyone verify for me what size the bolt is for the shift lever. I ended up damaging the threads on the body of the bike and might need to heli-coil or tap and die.

Um, well I hope this helps: Can you measure the diameter of the bolt with a vernier or Micrometer? Then use a thread gauge to measure the pitch. Alternatively, count the Threads Per inch. Usually they are 1,5mm (1.25 is fine and 1,75 is course). Hope this helps!

Can't say , for sure, on your bike, but bolts of that type are usually a shouldered 8 mm by 1.25 thread.

If the amount of material left to thread is marginal, you would want to use Loctite when installing a replacement..
