Problems downshifting- slips in neutral

Has anyone else experienced down shifting problems... It may be only when the bike is cold but I have experienced them multiple times now. Not just from 2nd to 1st, but also down shifting from third and fourth gear... It'll stick in neutral and then I'll have to click it up One gear and knock it back down...

I have done it a couple of times on almost all my bikes including the FZ07. Usually it comes from too-light a foot when you change gears. Then if you don't actually stop first, but instead shift into either the higher or lower gear, there is a loud clunk when it does go into gear. Try putting a little more force into your gear changes.
And more than likely, as the bike gets some miles on it, the transmission will shift smoother and a bit easier.
Does it go into neutral or does your gear indicator go blank?

Both at times
That does not seem normal, and I would have the dealer check it out. There is a known issue with the bike stalling, and some of those problems have been solved by making sure the cable with a connector under the clutch lever is installed correctly into it's mate. (mine wasn't and a lot of other people have complained that there's weren't either). The main symptom being the bike won't start in gear even though the side stand is up. May not be related, but just a heads up.

Ive actually been having this issue as well, harsh shifts/range dropouts and the gear position blank sometimes in 1-N-2, dealer says its the range sensor, but that doesnt explain the shifting issue
Mike D mentioned what happened to my bike, I had a problem with stalling the bike but the dealer fixed the clutch issue. Be affirmative when changing gears. get that baby in 1st to 2nd with a little authority as you ride it should smoothen up .
Ive got 7k on my bike already, it has yet to loosen up, happens in 3/4/5th too
Howdy :) We just purchased a new FZ-07 yesterday . Its pretty awesome !! But I came across the same issue today about the Gear Indicator going blank. It seems to only happen when I come to a stop without downshifting first. Any thing above 3rd gear.. Its hard to explain, hopefully you understand.. It wont let me shift unless I rock the throttle a little. then the gears show up. This is only when Im at a complete stop.. any thoughts ? Maybe I can get it on video .,
I've had a similar issue once or twice. It seemed to go into "no gear and not neutral" mode. I can't remember exactly what I did, but I know it involved letting the clutch out a little so things were actually engaged. I'm still trying to figure it out myself.
If you try to downshift through the gears after you come to a stop, I'd expect you to have trouble downshifting.
It's a sequential-shift transmission without gear synchros.
If the bike is not moving, that's how it works.
fair enough :) YZEtc - Youre absolutely correct. After posting to this forum., I ran into another one explaining the issue. We are getting stuck in-between gears. because we are doing it wrong :) We simply need to use the engine braking as its intended. Come to a stop still in 6th gear., . just try not to do it or youll have these issues
This "no gear available" happened to me after a hard test stop. Turns out I was in 3rd.
So, My bike has 38,000kms on it and i still experience this. Shifting clutch-less and with the clutch the same happens so from 2-3, 3-4, 1-2 and from 5-4th when 'riding like an ecstatic child'.
I would like to know if anyone has gone to a dealer about the issue.
I may have to try and get video for my mechanic then check with a dealer as i still have a warranty for a few more months.
