I just received my rad guard today and I am very exited to install. My question is, has any one got the R&G guard? If so did you cut and install the sticky foam strips? What is the purpose of these strips? Thank you in advance. The picture is of the one I purchased but not mine yet. I will post a picture when it's installed

don't they want close to $100 for a cover? I think a new radiator would cost less then a cover?

I thought the prices were ridiculous myself. So I just fabricated my own.

I did NOT use the foam and have no problems. I think is it for vibration/rattles maybe?

It's actually 1mm perforated aluminum, powder coated black. I cut a frame out of 3mm aluminum that has tabs with holes to bolt up where the side covers are mounted. Then pop riveted the screen onto that frame.
